Dear Miss Emily:
I have 2 best friends that
don't like each other and when I'm with 1 and the other wants to see me,
she'll get mad and wont talk to me for a couple of days. Should I just let
the extremely jealous friend go or what else?
-----------------------Miss Emily's advice-----------------------
True
friendship has no place for this kind of behavior. It is controlling,
reeks of insecurity (the root of jealousy), and is punitive. Muster the
courage and tell her this: "Although I love to spend time with you, and
value your friendship, by treating me this way, you obviously don't
value mine." Get
it straightened out now, or this abuse will continue. If she doesn't
understand your objection to her behavior, let the friendship go.
