Dear Miss Emily:

I really like this guy I met a few weeks ago. I want to believe he likes me, too, but I feel like he only wants to have sex with me considering the fact that he's always rubbing on me or talking dirty to me. I want him to like me. What can I do to get him to like me?

---------------------Miss Emily's advice----------------

If all he wants is sex, and you give in, he'll like you for that! But that's not how it should work. How you get to know if a guy likes you is after you set him straight. Tell him the terms of the relationship up front. If what he's doing is offensive to you, or this early in the game, tell him. If he backs off and respects you, allowing friendship to develop first, then he may be worth your time. But if he drops you like a hot potato once you tell him to back off on his dirty talk, and his physical aggressiveness, he's not interested in anything meaningful -- believe me!!!! Some boys (and men!) act like chimps in the wild. Silly creatures. Not chimps! That's instinctual. Boys are horny devils, but they shouldn't get a pass for not using their consciences.
