Dear Miss Emily:
I have been dating a guy who just moved to New York from Texas. We have been dating for about 2 months but haven't defined the relationship. Recently, I friend requested him on Facebook. When he did not respond to my friend request, I asked him, and he said he never logs on because he finds it depressing as all his friends on Facebook are from his hometown and he would become homesick. I have recently discovered, through my own intrigue, that there is a woman from Texas that lists him as the man she is in a relationship with. What should I do with this new found information? Should I confront him? And if so, how should I go about doing it?
------------------------------Miss Emily's advice-----------------------
I think you should tell him you have this information because you're going to wonder why this woman is saying it, and if it's legitimate. It's already got you suspicious, and now there's a trust issue at play. Why risk that? Will he take offense? Well, maybe. But if he's interested in you, and you haven't called him on a deception, I think he'll understand that these days people can't be too careful.
