Hello: I am recently married to a man that has kept many mementos of his past love. What is acceptable?

------------------------------Miss Emily's advice--------------------------

I don't see it as, necessarily, a bad thing. Some people like to keep memories of their past. It makes them feel important. Somehow, letting go of these mementos feels like it negates what came before in his life. In time, I am sure these things will be tossed -- but until then rarely, or never looked at. Don't make anything of it now. Were he to keep them in sight, or you saw him fawning over them, that would be cause for concern. Rise above it. You're his wife, now, and that's all that's important. If he's a loving, good man, and is respectful of you, this little attachment he keeps seems innocuous.
