Dear Miss Emily:
There is this guy, and I don't necessarily want to be in a relationship with him, but I am very sexually attracted to him. We hooked up last night but, now, he isn't really talking to me. I feel like I am being obsessive, but I want him to know that I just want to be friends who occasionally hooks up. What should I do?
--------------------------------Miss Emily's advice-------------------------
Perhaps you see this as some kind of rejection of you, but
don't. A hook-up is often no more than that. Don't appear too eager, and
wait a while before you contact him and ask if he wants to "hang"
(assuming you have his cell number). If he doesn't pick up the ball and
run with it, you simply know it was a one-night stand. Again, that
doesn't mean you have to internalize it as rejection. If he does
respond, then you can let him know you are into a FWB
relationship. Caveat: FWB often end up to be one person caring more than the other.
