Dear Miss Emily:

I was on vacation and I made  a few friends. One was a girl who was somewhat attractive. I didn't really pay too much attention because I have a girlfriend. I had taken my shirt off several times during the vacation. My friend had made a few jokes about liking my chest. Soon she kept making jokes telling me to take my shirt off. I don't think she was being serious but her comments made me feel attractive. I'm afraid of telling my girlfriend for fear she would not like the fact that the girl joked about my chest or that she made me feel attractive. My girlfriend says I'm attractive, but I feel as if she feels she has to say that regardless. Do I tell her?

-----------------------------Miss Emily's advice---------------------

No, keep your lip zipped. If you tell her you'd be doing it to either make her jealous, or to get her to flatter your flagging ego. But it will backfire in spades. Put this in perspective. A girl liked your chest, and she asked you to take off your shirt. How flirtatious of her! That and three bucks will by you a Starbucks coffee. Maturity tells you to accept the compliment and go on with your life. If you and your girlfriend have a good relationship, please don't spoil it by making an ass of yourself.
