Dear Miss Emily:

A girl at work started teasing me telling me that I need to smile and, whenever saying this, she would always give me a serious look -- so i mostly didn't and told her i left it at home. She would say "well next time bring it with you." Also if we r kind of distant from each other, she will just look at me and look away , So time went on and, then, she stopped doing this to me and all she does now is say "Hi","Hey" or "How are you?" but she can't even look at me in the face when she says anything to me anymore, But she still looks at me when we r kind of far away from each other. By her teasing me, I have developed a crush on her, Y did she suddenly change ?

-------------------------------Miss Emily's advice---------------------

She probably changed because her attempts at flirting with you fell flat, and she's cut her losses. If she still looks at you, she probably has feelings for you, but you haven't made any overture to ask her out, or pursue a relationship in any concrete manner. I can't imagine what you're waiting for -- and engraved invitation? Be friendly with her, and make an effort. Nothing is going to drop in your lap. If you ask her out, and she declines, so be it. But if it's rejection you fear, you're in for a long, lonely life if you don't get over it. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained."
