Dear Miss Emily:
Is it normal for a woman's period to be a little late after having sex for the first time?
----------------------------------Miss Emily's advice----------------------------
It's certainly possible -- but better safe, than sorry. If you're worried about being pregnant because you didn't use protection (or think it failed), take a drug store pregnancy test, and follow the instructions to the letter. Before that, however, read the box and make sure when it's the best time to take it. If this is not what you want, I hope this is a false alarm -- but the earlier you know the outcome, the better for planning purposes.
