Dear Miss Emily:
My sister is on drugs and she wont let me see my niece what should I do?
-----------------------------Miss Emily's advice--------------------------
If you think your niece is in danger because your sister is on drugs, it would be wise to call the Social Services Department, or the equivalent in your area. She has the right to not let you see you niece, but she doesn't have the right to put her daughter in danger. Call them, and see if your name can be kept private. I don't know whether this is possible but, if it can, it may protect you from further involvement. From my experience, people on drugs do not listen to anyone. They live in a state of denial. That is why, appealing to her, does no good.
