Dear Miss Emily:
I used to date this boy. His best friend had a girlfriend, too. My boyfriend hooked up with his best friend's girlfriend. If that makes sense.. This was just about two years ago. I recently was in contact with my ex's best friend. We really hit it off and have been talking everyday non-stop. He asked if anytime in the future would I move to IL, and live with him so we could be together. I live in NY. I'm scared to just pick up and move. I don't really know how to do it. I really like him! He owns his own business so I would have a job, and he said he could get me one if I moved. What should I do? How do I just pick up and go?
----------------------------------Miss Emily's advice--------------------------
I think you know it's premature to make a commitment like that. If you and he just started talking "everyday non-stop" that still doesn't insure a successful relationship if you were to move there. If this is going to work, both of you should be willing to be patient and take it slow. I'd find a way to visit, once weather permits, and build a stronger relationship before you even considered a move. To uproot your life in New York, now, would have to be because you don't have any real ties, and you are a gambling kinda gal.
