Miss Emily,
So I have been in this on-again, off-again relationship with this one guy for the past 3 years. I have always been the one to end it for various reasons. I ended it two months ago, and went over a month without talking, and it was the hardest month of my life. I was so lonely and I missed him so much. I asked him if we could talk and he agreed. I was excited, at first, but now I'm panicking. I began to become really attracted to another guy I barely even know and never talk too. Should I ignore these new feelings for the other guy? Or am I making a huge mistake in getting back together with my ex? Please help!
----------------------------------------------Miss Emily's advice-----------------------------------
Yes, I think it would be a mistake to get back with him -- at least not now. After three years together, there's a withdrawal period. I'm inclined to believe that the reason you missed him so much, after the break-up, is that you had no one else to fill the void. Now you're seeing that your heart is not in it enough to make rekindling a relationship with him a success. I think this interest in the new guy is truly a sign that you're ready to move on.
