Miss Emily:

Do you think it's weird if your boyfriend asks "Would you get mad if I cheated on you?" And, do you think it's weird that he kissed his best friend (who is a girl) on the lips? He said that he just kissed her like he kisses his mom, which is just a tiny peck. I said it didn't bother me that it was just a little peck but after thinking about it, it did bother me. I just don't have the nerve to tell him. We've been together for almost 7 months. I'm 14 and he's 16. He's my first boyfriend and I truly do love him, even though my mom just thinks it's "puppy love." He's my first everything. First crush, boyfriend, kiss, love. So, please tell me what you think, and tell me how you think I should handle this situation? Thanks

It's not as weird as it is blatant. I hope you told him "Yes, I would be mad if you cheated on me -- and that's a ridiculous question." I think it's pretty natural to be threatened by a female "best friend" who he kisses on the lips. The fact that it annoys you should be reason for him to stop if you were to tell him it seems a little too intimate being that you are his girlfriend. But he does it, he'd probably thinks it's your problem if you can't deal with it, and so the ball's in your court, so to speak. You either accept it, or you leave the relationship. This is always a dicey situation when a guy you're dating has a best friend, and it isn't you. Some girls (and when the situation is in reverse) simply can't handle it, and don't. He has a right to have female friends, but if he were truly honorable (a hard thing to be at this age), he'd include you in the friendship, and keep his lips off her out of respect for you.
