Der Miss Emily:
I've only been with my boyfriend for almost a year. At first I didn't want to be in a serious relationship with him but, as time went by, I grew feelings for him. I'm 22 and he is 32 and that was one of the main reasons why I didn't want to date him. We became serious right away. He has two daughters and was married before he met me. I had gotten pregnant a couple months ago, but had a miscarriage a month later. His ex came back wanting to be with him. He told me he needed closure and wasn't sure whether to get back with her. He claimed that she would put up with anything, unlike me. He ended up staying with me, but that hurt me a lot. Now I don't feel like I'm as in love with him as I used to be. I'm not as happy either. but I still want to be with him and want to make this work. We do fight, often, but we also have our good days what should I do?
----------------------------Miss Emily's advice---------------------------
I have bad vibes about this ever working out to your satisfaction. It was a blow for you to find out that he was considering going back to his wife, but I'm glad it happened. This will give you a taste of what's in store if you were to continue this relationship. To think you were pregnant by him. I hope that you're using protection, now. He still has no closure with his wife, and I would make book on the fact that he'd go back to her in a New York minute if you were to leave him. Even in the best circumstances, being with someone with an ex and two children can bring a host of problems. You'd have to really be mad keen on this guy to put up with some of the drama that could come out of that scenario were you to marry him. Figuratively, you'd have to have balls of steel! You're 22, and I think you know in your heart this is not the place you want to be. Again, I think you should be happy this past event occurred. It's a red flag that keeps on giving, and you'd be foolish to ignore it. Follow your inner-voice. The one that's telling you to get while the gettin's good.
