Dear Miss Emily:
I just met this guy on a dating site and we have been going out for a month now and I really like him a lot. But he tells me yesterday that he got a job offer in Canada (I live in PA) and he decide to take it! Though he said that he isn't leaving for another 5 months. He wants to know if I want to keep seeing him or should we end it... I don't know what to do! Should I keep seeing him or should I break it off?

This calls for a frank discussion on what would happen if you and he became closer in the next five months -- and what you would do about it! If he were to tell you "I'd move and go on with my life without you, because I'm not in this for a commitment" walk away. But if he says he can't make any promises on where this relationship will go, but he's willing to work at making it a success for a possible future commitment, continue to see him. You can't be sure this relationship will work out at this early stage, but there's no point in risking getting yourself in deep, only to find out that he had no intention of taking it any further than a casual relationship until he leaves.
