What Are His Intentions?

Hi Emily,
So I recently got out of a relationship that lasted almost 2 years. I broke up with this guy. . .because I fell for another one. This other guy is amazing and he makes me smile all the time. We have been intimate, and we act like we are "dating" but we aren't. I asked him the other day what his intentions were, and he said it was too early to tell if we could be in a relationship. Then he goes on about how he might be moving out of the area. It made me sad. Do you think he's scared of commitment, or just wants a girl to have sex with? He bought me flowers and takes me out to dinner,.but I just don't know. Is he worth my time?

I think you should go with what he said, "It's too early to tell if you and he could be in a relationship." Once you get to know him better, I think you'll have a good idea what his intentions are, and whether they suit you. If he is contemplating a move, I can see where he might want to keep this relationship light. But if your feelings for him move past the present dating scenario, and he's not showing a sincere desire to do the same, end it. I'm not one to play games in a relationship, but don't always be accessible to him. If you make this casual dating situation too easy, it sanctions his present mindset.
