Dear Miss Emily:
I have a boyfriend of 4 years now. he was my former colleague and just when we started going out, he had to go to Dubai and work -- so basically it's a long distance relationship. I could only see him for 10 days at most per year. Recently, he resigned from the company and is returning home. He has a job offer and was excited about it - even mentioning that he is coming back for me --but, suddenly (early August till now), he has been talking non stop about getting a job in Qatar. What does this mean? Do u think he has a girlfriend or has he promised another? What should I do? I am really upset.
-------------------------------Miss Emily's advice--------------------------
You and I have no proof if there's another woman involved -- although it's possible. But what we do know is that it looks like he's putting work ahead of you. And that's fine if he's honest about it and, apparently, he isn't. I would have a heart-to-heart with him, and ask him to level with you. You certainly deserve the truth about the relationship, and where it's headed. To carry on a long distance, four-year relationship is hard enough to do in the best circumstances -- but this is not the case for you. If he says everything is all right yet still moves to Qatar, as painful as if would be, I'd set him free. I think you're ready for a commitment and, so far, that seems "iffy" at best.
